5th Annual First Amendment Cartoon Contest

Since the earliest days of the American republic, cartoonists have entertained us, drawn attention to the issues of the day, and provoked discussion. In short, cartoons contribute to our civic life. In that spirit, celebrate Bill of Rights Day with the First Amendment Cartoon Contest!
The theme of this year's contest is "The right to freedom of expression in school."
All students nationwide — elementary, middle, and high school — are invited to submit a cartoon illustrating one or more of the principles of:
Free Speech • Symbolic Expression
If you are creative and like to draw, this is your chance to illustrate principles of freedom and perhaps win a prize! Submissions will be judged on the basis of content, artistic quality, and creativity.
Six winners will each receive a $50* cash prize, and the winners and up to 5 honorable mentions will be showcased on the Judges, Courts, and the Law web site. In addition, selected classes will have the opportunity to speak live online with Mary Beth Tinker, one of the original plaintiffs in theTinker v. Des Moines case.

Submission Deadline:
March 14, 2014
Results Announced:
May 1, 2014 (Law Day)

    1. These contests were from last year. I haven't seen ones for the current year. When we finish Presidents, we will have our own.
